How Did Progress Perform in Its 3Q?
According to Progress, "On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, revenue for the quarter was $119.4 million, down 6 percent (flat at constant currency) from $126.6 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2008. At the end of its third quarter, PSC had $186.5 million total in cash and short-term investments. During this quarter, the company also repurchased about 67,000 shares, costing about $1.4 million. In its recent press release, Progress stated, "The existing re-purchase authorization, under which approximately 9.6 million shares remain available for repurchase, expires on September 30, 2009."
