Slumberland Chooses DataDirect Products to Boost Efficiency

Slumberland, a Midwest furniture retailer, is using Progress DataDirect’s standards-based data connectivity products to deliver reliable, high-performance support for all major databases and 64-bit operating systems. Having more than 10,000 daily reports and an increasing amount of business transactions and data processing, the company needed more memory, which it could get with 64-bit architecture.

According to Progress, "Full-feature compatibility with DataDirect Connect® for ODBC provides easy migration for customers moving applications from 32-bit to 64-bit architecture and uses the same wire protocol design that eliminates the need for database client libraries – simplifying installation and administration while improving performance." Furthermore, Slumberland has also implemented DataDirect Connect64 for enabling development, deployment, and 32-bit or 64-bit runtime execution of Microsoft SSIS packages for non-SQL Server databases like Sybase, Oracle and DB2.
