PSC's Predictions about Airline Industry
According to a press release, Progress Software Corporation has predicted that "airlines will have to evolve and adapt or perish through 2011." This came from its Industry Vice President of Travel and Leisure, Joshua Norrid, who also cautions, that the "ever continuing external pressures will see airlines become much more responsive in their operations and customer needs, in order to survive."
Based upon its customer feedback and its own travel industry research, the firm pointed out five key trends that it thinks will influence the airline industry over the next decade.
Some of the trends are the following:
1. Partnerships, Code Shares, and Alliances to grow at speed and scale
2. Next-level customer service to come through technology
3. Dynamic social networks and applications will rise around airline networksor airlines to be 'in the know' across these newly emerging channels.
