Progress' New Solution to Detect Abusive Trading Practices


In April, Progress launched the Market Surveillance and Monitoring Solution Accelerator product, which financial institutions, exchanges and market regulators can use to identify patterns of erroneous or abusive trading activity, and prevent this from happening in real time. This solution also automates the steps required for handling investigations and supports the case management of alerts.

Data Privacy Solution for OpenEdge SaaS Platform


The Progress OpenEdge SaaS platform now has a highly compliant and cost-effective data privacy solution. This delivers full life-cycle data encryption that complies with things such as the latest Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations, an important requisite for the ongoing expansion of Cloud Computing. According to Progress, "To make this possible, the Progress OpenEdge Enterprise RDBMS now supports Transparent Data Encryption (TDE). TDE encrypts data on disk, whether the data is in the database, a backup, or a binary dump, and stays encrypted throughout its lifecycle."

CFO of Progress to Retire This Year


Progress has announced that Norman "Bud" R. Robertson, the company’s senior vice president, finance and administration, and chief financial officer (CFO), plans to retire this year. In 1996, Robertson joined Progress Software as its CFO. He will stay in his current role until his successor is in place and might still provide transition support after that.
